HP Police written test: an 8-week study plan
07 Nov 2026 · By the Score Delta team HP Police Constable
The official syllabus is +2 standard and is published separately by HPPSC, so check it when it appears. The June 2025 paper had about 20 questions each of Mathematics, GK, English and Hindi, and about 10 of Reasoning. We build our mocks on that split. Treat it as a guide, not a guarantee.
Weeks 1–2: find your level
- Take one free mock on day 1, without preparation. Do not worry about the score.
- Maths basics: percentage, ratio, averages, number system.
- Hindi and English grammar: one topic a day.
Weeks 3–4: cover the ground
- Maths: mensuration, statistics, probability, time and work.
- HP GK: history, geography, districts, fairs. A little every day works better than one long sitting.
- One sectional test every two days.
Weeks 5–6: test yourself
- Two full mocks a week, in one sitting, at the time of your real exam if you know it.
- After each mock, spend as long reviewing as you spent on the test.
- Work on the two weakest topics from your analysis.
Weeks 7–8: sharpen
- Three mocks a week. Practise the option E habit.
- Revise only what is due and what you got wrong. Avoid starting new books.
- Last two days: light revision and sleep.
On training days
Physical tests come first, and failing one PET event ends your candidature, so do not drop training. Split your study: 30 minutes of practice questions in the morning and 30 minutes of revision at night is enough to keep moving.
